865 trees, and everything that moves in
Our forest is up to 865 trees, and it's what comes to live in them that makes it a forest.
Another update from the digiDen Studio forest: 40 more trees in the ground, bringing our total to 865 with JUST ONE Tree.
The forest is getting on with it, creating rural work and giving homes to wildlife and marine life, and it's set to absorb around 266.42 tonnes of CO₂ as it grows. Every WebCare Growth Plan keeps that going month after month.
A forest is more than trees
If you plant one kind of tree in neat rows you get a plantation, but plant a mix of native species and something else happens. Insects arrive, then the birds that feed on them, then the animals that follow the birds. The ground changes too, because roots hold the soil together, fallen leaves feed it and water stays where it's needed.
That's why the work JUST ONE Tree backs is about restoring whole ecosystems rather than counting stems, and the trees are really where it starts.
The bit you don't see
Most of what makes a forest healthy happens out of sight, underground or up in the canopy or overnight, and nobody stands there watching it. A website's a bit like that too, because most of the work that keeps it healthy goes on where you won't notice it.
To every WebCare client, thank you, you're the reason the forest keeps filling up. If you'd like to join in, have a look at the Growth Hub.
